The group announced in February it would pay $175m, based on $2.75 per share, which sees the deal represent a premium of $46.3m over Artio’s unaudited net asset value at 31 March 2013.

Aberdeen said Artio was debt-free and had net assets of $112.4m of cash and seed investments. It runs $10.6bn across retail and institutional clients.

As announced in February, the deal will see Artio’s global high yield and high grade teams join Aberdeen, boosting its US, global bond and distribution capabilities.
