Rait has joined Heartwood from Arbuthnot & Co where he launched its DFM proposition to advisers. His responsibility at Heartwood will be to help develop the firm’s distribution strategy to serve advisers.
Meanwhile, Laughlin has been promoted from within having joined Heartwood in 2007. In her previous role as investment associate she assisted in the management of client portfolios.
Heartwood said these latest appointments underline its drive to provide an investment management service to advice firms that are looking to outsource.
The firm has a global multi-asset investment style and hosts a range of strategies across the risk spectrum. It has £1.48bn in assets under management and administration, of which £668m is in its multi-asset funds launched nearly three years ago.
