As the new head of UK business development manager, McFayden will oversee the development of the firm’s discretionary service, scheduled to launch later this year.
He will also manage FCA regulatory accounts for the firm.
McFayden joins the London and Paris based specialist investment firm from Meteor Asset Management, where he set up the firm’s institutional business development team that provided bespoke structured products to UK institutional investors.
His 30-year plus career in finance has also included investment trust analyst and sales roles at Winterflood Securities, Matrix Group and, earlier in his career, Credit Suisse and ABN Amro.
Steve Lamarque, the former head of structured products at Old Mutual who founded Hilbert, said the discretionary service was borne out of increased client demand.
“Lately, we have seen a great demand for income and diversification within the structured products industry and I am confident that David will help us to launch new services we are developing for clients in the UK,” he said.
