Masding has become lead manager of the L&G Real Income Builder Fund, which launched in January 2015, and his hire follows the recent arrival of former Old Mutual fund manager Stephen Message who earlier this month joined LGIM’s global income team.
Prior to joining Longview, where he was a partner and global equities research analyst, Masding was a senior equities portfolio manager at HSBC Halbis Capital Management.
Reporting to Nick Hartley, head of inflation plus strategies within LGIM’s active equities team, Masding assumes the role of lead manager of Real Income Builder Fund from Hartley, who had been interim manager of the £555m fund.
Targeting income and capital growth, the fund aims to generate an income that grows by 4% more than UK inflation per year and a total return of 4% more than UK inflation if the income is reinvested.
