Carey joins Charles Stanley from Brewin Dolphin, where he spent 13 years as an investment manager. Prior to Brewin Dolphin, he worked for GVG Capital and Gerrard Investment.

Carey’s appointment follows on from the hires of Nick Minto and Darrell Dymond as intermediary sales managers in March.

“I have over 30 years’ experience working in the investment sphere and look forward to bringing this knowledge to Charles Stanley,” said Gerald Carey.

Anthony Scott, head of investment management at Charles Stanley, said: “We are committed to attracting and retaining the best talent in the industry and Gerald brings with him a wealth of expertise and experience. We will continue to invest in providing clients with a first rate service.”
