Vaughan worked at Threadneedle since 2000. He was primarily involved in co-managing institutional mandates and was deputy to head of UK equities Simon Brazier on his £1.1bn UK Institutional fund.

James Thorne will pick up the majority of Vaughan’s responsibilities, working alongside Brazier on UK Institutional, Simon Haines on the
UK Smaller Companies and £124m UK Mid 250, on which he will be named deputy manager.

There will be no direct replacement to head the UK equity small cap desk.
