Edinburgh-based boutique Aubrey Capital Management has made its global emerging markets fund available to UK investors following demand for the strategy.
The firm has launched an onshore version of the SVS Aubrey Global Emerging Markets fund, managed by Aubrey partner and investment director Andrew Dalrymple, along with Rob Brewis and John Ewart.
The fund invests in companies focused on the growth in consumption and services in emerging markets with a market capitalisation of at least $500m (£350m). Environmental, social and governance factors are part of the investment team’s analysis.
Current holdings are within the food and drink, clothing, housing, banking, e-commerce, travel, healthcare and wealth management sectors.
The fund is top quartile over three and five years, delivering 41.3% and 137.9% respectively, compared with the FO Equity – Emerging Markets sector average of 17.9% and 77.6%, according to Trustnet.
Dalrymple said: “We’ve received a significant number of enquiries for a UK domiciled version of the fund from retail, institutional investors and investment platforms, so I’m thrilled to be able to offer them the UK version.”
In July last year, Aubrey hired Brooks Macdonald co-founder Jon Gumpel to develop its services for IFAs. Shortly after that it launched an Aim model portfolio service exclusively on the Ascentric platform.
Earlier this month it was announced David Neilson of Brooks Macdonald would join Gumpel at Aubrey as an investment manager in its private client team.
