Tilney has announced its second appointment this week, nabbing a Brown Shipley multi-asset manager for its direct equity research team.
Paul Weyers becomes senior equity analyst in the central investment team reporting to Andy Brown, head of equities.
At Brown Shipley Weyers was a senior fund manager with responsibility for direct equities within the multi-asset fund range. He had previously worked at Co-Operative Asset Management and Alliance Trust.
Brown said the £24.4bn wealth manager has a growing investment team and is developing its research capabilities. “Tilney has one of the largest private client books in the UK, supported by a sizeable team of 12 analysts and over a hundred investment managers and advisers.”
On Tuesday, Tilney revealed another hire with Victoria Newlands (pictured) joining as an investment adviser in its Mayfair office.
Newlands was previously assistant investment manager at Rathbones’ Winchester office. She was there for four-and-a-half years having joined from IBM, where she was a consultant.
Tilney head of investment advisory Sam Coppin said the business has seen strong asset growth in the service. He said Newlands would be responsible for advising private clients on their portfolios on a multi-asset basis, working with both the research team and alongside Tilney’s financial planners.
