Insparo Asset Management has appointed a former equity fund manager as head of marketing as it seeks to attract a wider group of international investors, particularly from the US.

Glenda Levin began her new role in late October and replaces Bibi Korvalian who is now managing director of Alpha Ucits. She will report to chief executive Mohammed Hanif and chief operating officer Jon Laidlow.

Insparo said Levin will primarily be responsible for expanding the company’s investor base in the UK and Europe but in addition, will also lead a dedicated marketing drive targeting new international investors, particularly those in the US. Insparo added that she will also play a major role in the design and marketing of new products for the firm.

Levin joins the company from Pioneer Alternative Investments where she was head of equity strategy for fund of funds. In this role she was influential in increasing exposure to equity funds for multi-strategy products located across Europe, US and Asia.

She has also worked at Equitable Life where she was responsible for managing portfolios of almost £8bn across a range of sectors and at UBS where she was director of the firm’s corporate advisory group.
