Garcia joins the firm after 12 years at Blackrock, most recently as head of EMEA institutional and retail portfolio management, ETF and index investments. In this role he oversaw £370bn across 170 portfolios.
Prior to this, he headed-up Blackrock’s EMEA and APAC multi-asset risk and quantitative analysis team. In total, he has 17 years’ industry experience.
At Columbia Threadneedle, Garcia will work with the London-based global investments team reporting to Jeff Knight, global head of investment solutions and Mark Burgess, deputy global chief investment officer.
