Launched in February 2014, the UK-domiciled version of the fund is managed by Vincent McEntegart of the Kames’ multi-asset team. McEntegart will likewise manage the new global investment vehicle.
According to Scott Jamieson, head of multi-asset investing at Kames Capital, the launch was driven by the continued demand for multi-asset products “as investors look for funds that offer a robust and proven asset allocation process.”
The fund will be offered in a wide range of European jurisdictions, including the UK, Belgium, Germany, Guernsey, Ireland, Jersey and Luxembourg.
Combining a top-down macroeconomic view with bottom-up stock selection the fund will typically hold 200 to 300 instruments and will invest in a variety of assets, from investment grade and high yield bonds to global equities, listed property and other forms of specialist income.
The asset manager said the new fund aims to deliver “an attractive sustainable income (a monthly income of 5% per annum) as well as capital growth.” It has a projected target total return of 7-8% after fees over the medium term of three to five years.
The Kames Global Diversified Income Fund has an AMC of 0.55% subject to regulatory approval.
