Spelina will help develop Jupiter’s US credit expertise and be part of the ongoing development of its fixed income team. He joins on 23 October.
Following the appointment of two emerging market debt analysts earlier this year, Spelina brings Jupiter’s team of credit analysts to a total of nine, led by Hilary Blandy, head of credit research.
Katharine Dryer, Jupiter’s head of investments, fixed income and multi asset, said: “Charlie’s corporate credit and US market experience mean he is perfectly placed to support the team’s ambitions and we are delighted to welcome someone of his calibre to the team.”
Spelina joins after 10 years at BlueBay Asset Management, most recently in the US, first as a trader and then as a corporate credit analyst with a focus on European and US industrial sectors.
Ariel Bezalel, manager of the Jupiter strategic bond and Jupiter dynamic bond funds said: “Independent credit research has always been a cornerstone of our approach, and Charlie’s experience in the US market makes him the perfect candidate to further expand the team’s wealth of regional expertise.
“We look forward to working with him to generate fresh investment ideas for the strategy.”
