Barber who has been at the firm since 2013, is leaving from 10 October to “pursue another opportunity”, the asset manager confirmed to PA.

Martyn Gilbey, UK country head, will assume Barber’s responsibilities in the interim and the firm is looking to replace the position as soon as possible, it said.

Prior to joining Franklin Templeton, Barber was head of consultant relations at Hermes Investment Management and before that, director EMEA in the institutional group at Fidelity International.

In a statement, the firm said: “We would like to thank Jill for her contributions to the firm over the last four years and wish her well in her future endeavours.

“Jill will work with the team to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities and we do not expect her departure to cause disruption to our UK institutional business.

“With an average 12 years of industry experience, our very experienced London-based team includes Chris Orr, director, institutional client service; Steven Gardner, director, institutional business development; and David Whitehair, director, DC business development.”
