Managed by Eric Bendahan, Syz & Co. said the fund will hold a concentrated portfolio of continental European stocks in which the manager has a high conviction and sees strong growth potential over three-to-five years. Syz & Co added that, having a three-to-five year time horizon allows Bendahan to “focus on the longer-term stories” leading to a relatively low portfolio turnover of around 50% to 60% per annum.

The company explained many UK investors like to control their European equity exposure between the UK and the rest of Europe and that, by excluding UK stocks from the fund, this strategy helps investors to achieve this.
Ian Penrose, distribution director for the UK said: “The launch of this exciting new fund adds further weight to our ambition to raise Syz & Co.'s profile in the UK investor community and underlines our commitment to deliver solutions tailored to UK investors' needs.”

Fund manager Bendahan also manages OYSTER European Selection, which has the same investment strategy and, said Syz & Co, has outperformed its benchmark by 30% since launch in November 2011. He also manages OYSTER European Opportunities, which is also first quartile.

The fund falls under Syz & Co’s Luxembourg domiciled Sicav umbrella, is Ucits IV compliant and is benchmarked against the MSCI Europe ex-UK NR GBP index.
