The new course offers CISI and CII members a fast-track route to enhancing the qualifications they already have through each accredited body with a masters degree and the first intake will start in September.
The parties said the postgraduate degree has been launched in response to demand for specialist training in the wake of RDR implementation.
Only members holding the CII advanced diploma in financial planning or the CISI masters programme in wealth management are eligible to apply for the course, which they can opt to complete over a year or 15 months.
Both the CII and CISI said they had seen a growth in demand for higher wealth management qualifications, stemming in part from the RDR.
Professor Andrew Clare, Associate Dean of Cass’ MSc Programme, said: “Higher education institutions have been slow to respond to the growing student and industry demand for specialist wealth management training. This course aims to take experienced professionals to the next level in their learning and careers.”
