RBC Investor Services has hired two new client solutions personnel to help ensure consistency of service as the group expands globally.

Germain Birgen has been appointed as head, client solutions, Europe (excluding Luxembourg), while Richard Clarke has joined as head, client design.

Both will report to Tim Wood who is head of client solutions globally.

Prior to joining RBC Investor Services, which was rebranded from RBC Dexia last month, Birgin was managing director, HSBC Securities Services Luxembourg.

Within this role he launched and headed the fund solutions division and the Islamic securities services proposition. He will continue to be based in Luxembourg but will play a key role in leading the client solutions team throughout the rest of Europe.

Meanwhile, Clarke will be based in London and will lead the client solutions client design effort. Prior to joining RBC Investor Services he was senior vice president of strategic solutions at Brown Brothers Harriman.

Wood said of the appointments: “The extensive expertise both Germain and Richard bring with them, along with their standing and reputation in the industry, will significantly contribute to providing our clients with creative and customized service solutions to help them achieve their ambitions.”
