The fund is the latest addition to its fleet of income products, which spans UK, European, Global and Global Emerging Markets equities.
It will adopt a total return, bottom-up strategy and target a composite of high dividend, dividend growth and opportunity stocks.
SLI have selected Scott Eun, the manager of several of its core US equity funds, to oversee the fund. Eun will be supported by fellow SLI US equity portfolio manager, Warren Gibbon, as well as team of 10 who are also based in Boston.
SLI’s head of US Equities Jeff Morris said the fund represents “an exciting offering for investors looking for exposure to the US equity market.”
“The vehicle’s income mandate helps reduce some of the volatility and potential downside inherent in the market while its total return approach offers the ability to perform in positive markets,” Morris explained.
“Although the US is not always synonymous with income investing, there are a number of companies that have delivered stable income streams and are growing dividends. There’s also a broad spread of sectors in the US that offer income-yielding opportunities, with over 80% of companies in the S&P500 currently paying a dividend,” he added.
