Kames Capital has boosted the team on its High Yield Global Bond fund by promoting Claire McGuckin to co-manager alongside Phil Milburn.

Effective from 1 June, the move sees Melanie Mitchell move from co-manager to support manager on the offshore vehicle, though she remains Milburn’s co-manager on the onshore fund.

Having different co-managers on the two versions of the fund will relieve the pressure on the managers as it continues to gain traction across the UK and continental Europe.

Kames High Yield Global Bond is available in the UK, Austria, the Channel Islands, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Switzerland.

The fund has returned 59.4% over five years, according to Financial Express.

Milburn said: "Owing to the success of our high yield franchise and its growing popularity both in the UK and continental Europe, we have decided to redeploy our resources in a way where we can meet the growing demand for our time to engage with investors. It also provides us with an opportunity to reward Claire for her excellent contribution to our team since she joined last year."

A spate of fixed income new hires have been announced this week; M&G and Newton announced the appointment of high yield specialists to their respective teams, while T Rowe Price named Arif Husain as its new head of international fixed income.
