Bolton will retain his role as head of European equities, continuing to co-manage the offshore BGF European and BGF European Focus funds, worth an aggregate €5bn.
His new role will bring him under the stewardship of Quentin Price, who formerly held the position and now oversees the Alpha Strategies group. He will work closely with his counterpart Chris Leavy, CIO of Fundamental Equity Americas.
Bolton has been with BlackRock since 2008. Prior to joining the firm, he was a director and head of European equities at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership.
