Steadman will join the established financial-planning team from HSBC, where he was a premier client manager.

He has previously held roles as a financial adviser at IFA Bishop Fleming and St James’s Place and at banks including Santander and Bank of Scotland.

It marks the latest of a string of new hires at the investment manager following its rebrand from Tilney BestInvest and start of an intense recruitment drive.

Tilney said Steadman had “significant experience building relationships” with high-net worth private clients.

Rob Chandler, regional head of financial planning at Tilney, said: “The continued growth of the Tilney Bristol team will help reinforce Tilney’s ‘two expert’ approach to supporting clients with both financial planning advice and tailored investment management within the area.

“As we continue to expand our team around the country, we will be looking for individuals, like Darren, who can offer the best possible service to our clients.”
