Following the departure of head of US equities Cormac Weldon, Threadneedle has hired four to expand the team.

The new appointments come after head of US equities, Cormac Weldon, along with portfolio manager Stephen Moore left the firm in April to join Artemis Investment Managers later this year.
 
Benedikt Blomberg, Nicolas Janvier and Amit Kumar join as analysts, while Richard Adams joins as client portfolio manager. 
 
Blomberg and Janvier join from Columbia Management which along with Threadneedle comprise the global asset management business of Ameriprise Financial. Meanwhile Kumar joined from Artham Capital Partners. Adams was previously analytics manager in the firm’s reporting and information services team.  
 
Ealier this year, the equities team expanded when US fund manager Nadia Grant was appointed, joining existing managers Neil Robson and Ashish Kochar.
 
“I am very pleased about the swift progress we have made in enhancing our London-based US Equities team, while at the same time increasing our collaboration with Columbia Management’s US Equities team,” CIO Mark Burgess said.
