In terms of performance, the funds have hopefully fared better than some of the football clubs, with the humiliation of Celtic (owned by Train) at the hands of Barcelona (privately owned) last night (6-1!) makes it an easier ‘sell’ than ‘hold’.

Manchester United, for example, is more than just a football club: it has a global reach, has a dominant presence in Asia, includes a number of different earnings streams and is a huge brand.
