The board of Smithson Investment Trust has announced that chairman Mark Pacitti is to retire at the end of February.

Fellow board director Diana Dyer Barlett will succeed him as chair. On behalf of the board, she thanked Pacitti “for the contribution he has made as chairman to the success of the company since its IPO in October 2018”.

Lord St John of Bletso will take over Dyer Bartlett’s role as chair of the audit committee, with his chairmanship of the management engagement committee moving to new board appointee Jeremy Attard-Manche.

Formerly chief executive of value equity hedge fund Noster Capital LLP, Attard-Manche was also previously a partner at Tell Investments, which he jointly founded in 2002.

Prior to this, he was a managing director with Merrill Lynch in London, responsible for all hedge fund distribution in Europe.

Attard-Manche holds no shares in the company.
