Sanlam has raided eight rivals, including St James’s Place, to bulk out its wealth planning team across England.

Former SJP man Jean-Michel Morelli is among a trio of hires joining Sanlam’s London offices with Sarb Chahal also joining from Tideway Investment Partners and Paul Johncock coming on board from Close Brothers.

The trio will report to Elliott Silk, head of commercial at Sanlam UK.

Silk will also be responsible for new hires to the Bristol and Fareham office.

Stuart Arnold, previously at Charles Darby, becomes senior wealth planner in the Bristol office, while Chris Halliwell joins as a wealth planner from Create Financial Consulting.

At the Fareham office, Paul Cadman joins from NFU Mutual as a senior wealth planner.

Two additional hires have also been made in the Preston office and will report to regional sales manager Ian Martin.

Mike Walker joins from Prest and Jamie Reed moves from Pitch UK, both as wealth planners.

John White (pictured), CEO of Sanlam’s wealth division, said the firm is strengthening its UK-wide footprint and the hires underline the firm’s commitment to growth and supporting its regional offering.
