Schroders Personal Wealth (SPW) has hired Makala Green (pictured), along with four wealth advisers, to strengthening its presence across England and Wales.

Green was director of St James’s Place-owned Green Wealth Planning until April 2022. At SPW she will support clients in the Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire region.

She started her financial services career in 2004 at Nationwide, where she worked as a financial planning manager.

Joining Green at SPW are Elaine Porter, who will cover Chester and the Wirral; Paul Innocent, covering Blackpool and Flyde Coast; Neil Whiteside, responsible for Liverpool; and Michael Hart, who will cover North Wales.

Porter previously worked at NatWest and Prudential before joining SPW in June. Whiteside and Innocent have both had stints at Wesleyan financial planning, with the former having joined SPW from Wealth at Work. Hart joins the firm from HSBC.

Ben Waterhouse, chief client officer at Schroders Personal Wealth, said: “We are pleased to have attracted individuals of this calibre to the business. Makala, Elaine, Paul, Neil and Michael will play an important part in establishing our presence across the regions.

“The need for financial advice is stronger than ever, especially in the current market. We want to help as many people as possible by showing them the importance of having a financial plan. Our advisers across the regions will help deliver our goal of giving more advice to more clients.”
