The branch is overseen by investment executives Hitesh Mistry and Paul Smith, who will lead the search for new regional business opportunities alongside advising existing individual and corporate clients, trusts, SIPPs, charities and corporates.

Mistry and Smith arrive from investment manager berths with WH Ireland to run Rowan Dartington’s Birmingham operation, bringing a combined 38 years’ industry experience.

Prior to joining WH Ireland in March 2014, both held roles with Barclays Wealth & Investment Management and Gerrard Investment Management, while Smith’s CV also includes a stint with Charles Stanley.

The Birmingham office represents yet another step in Rowan Dartington’s ongoing expansion of its capabilities and client base, following on from the agreement of an acquisition by St James’s Place in July.

Graham Coxell, executive chairman, Rowan Dartington, said: “We have always viewed Birmingham as a prospective regional hub for us and the proposed acquisition by SJP, which still requires regulatory approval, has further strengthened the rationale for us opening a new centre there.”
