Quilter raids industry ahead of multi-asset rebrand

The multi-asset manager confirmed head of investments Anthony Gillham continues in his role, joining chief executive Paul Simpson on the executive committee.

They are joined by a foursome of appointments on the executive committee, including Fiona Woodhouse, chief risk officer, who joins from Janus Henderson. The remaining three are internal appointments: Dean Bowden as chief commercial officer; Anita Masih as head of HR; and Mitchell Dean in the dual role of COO/CFO.

A number of further senior management hires that sit outside the executive committee have been poached from across the asset management industry.

From OMGI, the single strategy business spinning out from Old Mutual Wealth in a Richard Buxton-led buyout, Shawn Rea and Deborah Nash become head of finance and head of legal respectively.

Additionally, Quilter Investors has poached a number of hires from rival asset managers outside the Old Mutual Group.

Daniella Johnston joins from Aberdeen Standard Investments as head of marketing; Alex Risby joins from Royal London Asset Management as head of IT; Matt Leary joins from Brown Advisory as head of operations; Maziar Alamouti will join from Agilis Investment Management as head of dealing.

Rebrand

The DFM also announced the multi-asset arm is rebranding to Quilter Investors, as the group company name, Old Mutual Wealth, rebrands to Quilter.

The Quilter Investors range of products, including Cirilium, Generation, Creation and the sub-advised funds included within the WealthSelect Managed Portfolio Service, will all adopt the new Quilter brand.

Quilter Investors currently oversees £17.1bn.

The rebrand will happen between 29 June and 2 July, making the multi-asset team the first in the group to adopt the new identity.

The remaining Quilter businesses will be re-branded to Quilter over a period of approximately two years following separation from Old Mutual. They will become:

• Quilter Financial Planning (formerly Intrinsic)
• Quilter Private Client Advisers (formerly Private Client Advisers)
• Quilter Wealth Solutions (formerly UK Platform)
• Quilter International (formerly international business)
• Quilter Life Assurance (formerly the Heritage life assurance business)
• Quilter Cheviot will retain its name
