Joining F&C later this month, Tomlinson will work alongside another recent recruit Alex Howe, who joined from Schroders earlier this year.
Both will be sales directors in the structure working under John Bennett, who joined last year from RWC as head of wholesale, and Rob Thorpe, head of UK sales, retail and wholesale.
Tomlinson spent just over a year at Muzinich, having been recruited in February 2014. Prior to this role, he spent eight years at Schroders in asset manager sales.
