Robinson joins the Miton sales team on 9 September and will be responsible for promoting Miton’s product range to wealth managers. He will report to Neil Bridge head of business development at the group.
Robinson was previously at Cazenove Capital Management where he was discretionary sales manager for London, the South & the Channel Islands – a position he held since 2007. Prior to this, he worked at both Close Investments and Chase de Vere. Bridge said Robinson brings valuable experience among key wealth management clients for the group.
Miton announced on Monday that former JP Morgan Asset Management head of investment trusts David Barron would be joining the group to lead its product strategy. At the time the group said it was scaling up its resources to address a growing range of customers.
The group has also been active on the product development side of the business. At the end of August, the group said it was likely to launch a Fundamental UK Long/Short Equity fund, with George Godber as the lead manager.
The group has also won the services of Bill Mott, after its deal in July to buy PSigma Asset Management for £13m. The senior fund management team is now 13-strong and runs 11-onshore open-ended funds and four investment trusts.
