Little, who takes a non-executive seat, is the sixth person to be appointed as director since Glyn Jones became chairman in September 2016.

Currently a founder-partner of Northill Capital helping firms with combined assets under management of $42bn, Little spent 10 years with BNY Mellon rising to head its international asset management business.

He was also chair of The Dreyfus Corporation in New York in 2007 and 2008 and chairman of Insight Investment Management from 2009 as well has holding roles on the boards of Newton Asset Management, Walter Scott, Pareto and Alcentra.

Little has also worked with JP Morgan and Fidelity and was a non-executive director of Jupiter Fund Management for five years until 2016.

Glyn Jones, chairman of the Old Mutual Wealth board, said: “I am delighted that Jon has agreed to join the board as his skillset complements those of the other directors.

“Jon’s excellent knowledge and understanding of the asset management industry will be invaluable as we continue to develop Old Mutual Global Investors and Quilter Cheviot.

“He will also help support this unique and successful wealth management business on its journey to an independent future.”
