Arevalo will join Jupiter as a fund manager later this year from Pioneer Investments, where he has worked for four years as an emerging markets corporate debt portfolio manager.

Prior to this, he worked on emerging market debt strategies at Standard Bank Asset Management, Gibraltar Bank and the International Bank of Miami. He brings with him over 18 years’ experience of investing in emerging markets in total.

CIO at Jupiter Stephen Pearson said: “We have steadily built out our fixed income team in recent years and have been keen to develop our emerging market debt capabilities as part of this expansion. Our unconstrained bond strategy managed by Ariel Bezalel has been increasing exposure to this asset class and we believe Alejandro’s track record, investment process and flexible approach will add significantly to our expertise in this area as we look to broaden our fixed income product suite.”

“Jupiter has a growing reputation in the fixed income space and a strategic commitment to building out its dedicated emerging market debt business,” added Arevalo. I’m really excited to be joining the team to spearhead this drive.”
