The group, which will manage more than $100bn globally will be led by Seth Bernstein who has worked at the firm for 28 years and previously led the investment management’s global fixed income and currency business.
Bernstein’s department will comprise the global multi-asset group from the investment management side, as well as the private banking’s global access portfolios and thematic and opportunistic advisory programmes.
Each individual unit will continue to focus on their respective client segments, but the overall team will leverage its "intellectual capital and combined investment acumen," JPM said.
Chris Willcox will take on Bernstein’s former role as head global head of fixed income and currency, moving from JPM’s Investment Bank where he was head of global rates.
