Henderson dispenses with CIO role

“Rob Gambi left the business in December last year after we reviewed our executive structure and agreed there was no longer a need for the CIO role,” said a statement from Henderson.

“The role was primarily focused on oversight and management of the investment teams globally, rather than being involved directly in making investment decisions or developing a house view,” it continued.

Phil Apel, head of fixed income, and Graham Kitchen, head of equities, will take over Gambin’s former responsibilities within their own teams.

Gambi joined Henderson from UBS in 2014, where he worked as a group managing director and global head of fixed income. Prior to that, he worked at Henderson and AMP Asset Management.
