Hargreaves Lansdown has appointed Elsevier chief technology officer Dan Olley to its board.

Olley will become an independent non-executive director and member of the risk committee. He takes the total number of non-executive directors on the board to seven.

Hargreaves chairwoman Deanna Oppenheimer (pictured) said Olley “brings a wealth of experience from a wide range of sectors, and will add further breadth to the knowledge base of the board”.

A regulatory filing announcing his appointment described Olley as a “seasoned senior technology leader with a track record of driving digital transformations”. He has worked in financial services, insurance, business information solutions, research and healthcare.

He joined Elsevier parent company RELX in 2004 as UK CTO in Reed Business Information.
