In his newly created role at the specialist asset manager, Hart will look after the distribution across the firm’s alternative products, spanning the strategic public equity, private equity and real asset divisions.

He will also handle the development of the firm’s new long-term investment solutions business aimed at institutional investors, which will launch its first fund, the British Strategic Investment Fund, over the summer.

Participating investors, include local government and corporate pension schemes, endowments and family offices.

Hart commented that he was “excited to join Gresham House and to help deliver the next phase of growth.”

“The Company’s specialism in alternative investment strategies makes it well positioned to benefit from increasing capital allocations by institutions and families,” he stated.

The firm’s managing director Rupert Robinson (pictured), who Hart will report to, said he was “pleased to have attracted someone of Michael’s quality to lead our distribution activity.”

Before his role as global head of business development at Amundi, Hart was in a similar role at Aberdeen Asset Management in the firm’s alternative solutions division. He also spent over ten years at the investment consultancy Bfinance.
