Europe has made a comeback as investors’ equity market of choice this year, says Axa Investment Managers’ head of investing Adrian Lowcock, but selecting the right blend of funds can present a challenge.
However, in the short term markets could continue to be swayed by political events, not just in Greece but in Spain, where elections loom and anti-austerity and independence parties are gaining traction. There is even the possibility of relations with Russia flaring up again.
However, experienced professional investors have become used to the political influence on markets and will find any volatility as an opportunity to boost positions in companies they particularly like.
