Investor demand for Socially Responsible Investments (SRI) is on the rise, but how can a fund manager evaluate how ‘socially responsible’ a company really is?

We asked a range of SRI managers how easy it is to evaluate how socially responsible a company really is.

The answer was overwhelmingly that it is not. These fund managers tell Portfolio Adviser what it is that they do in their due diligence process to determine whether a company is worthy of calling itself “Socially Responsible”.
