Columbia Threadneedle hires Blackrock veteran

Columbia Threadneedle has appointed Blackrock stalwart Lorenzo Garcia as head of EMEA client investment solutions.

Garcia joins the firm after 12 years at Blackrock, most recently as head of EMEA institutional and retail portfolio management, ETF and index investments. In this role he oversaw £370bn across 170 portfolios.

Prior to this, he headed-up Blackrock’s EMEA and APAC multi-asset risk and quantitative analysis team. In total, he has 17 years’ industry experience.

At Columbia Threadneedle, Garcia will work with the London-based global investments team reporting to Jeff Knight, global head of investment solutions and Mark Burgess, deputy global chief investment officer.
