The last of BMO Global Asset Management’s savings plans and investment trusts have been rebranded, tying up the final loose ends of its takeover by Columbia Threadneedle.

Following a review with their respective boards, five closed-ended vehicles managed by BMO Gam have chosen to adopt the ‘CT’ prefix.

The vast majority of BMO Gam’s funds have taken on Columbia Threadneedle’s branding, with the name changes coming into effect today.

This list now includes the £326.8m BMO Capital & Income trust and £319.1m BMO Private Equity trust, as well as BMO Gam’s six-strong suite of savings plans.

Others, such as the BMO Managed Portfolio trust, managed by Peter Hewitt, and BMO Real Estate Investments have taken the opportunity to “refresh” their names, in addition to using the new prefix.

Two trusts – BMO Global Smaller Companies and BMO Commercial Property – have decided to ditch their ‘BMO’ prefix but not adopt the Columbia Threadneedle moniker.

The F&C Investment Trust, which is the world’s oldest, TR Property Investment Trust and European Assets Trust will keep their existing names.

Marrack Tonkin, head of investment trusts at Columbia Threadneedle, said: “We’re pleased to announce the brand integration of our savings schemes and investment trusts into the Columbia Threadneedle Investments brand.

“These changes mark the next step in our long history of serving our retail customers, helping them save for their futures and unlocking the power of investing with a long-term mindset.

“We firmly believe that the additional support and research provided through the expanded investment teams at Columbia Threadneedle will ensure we can provide even broader investment capabilities across asset classes, enabling us to continue to meet the needs of the trusts’ shareholders.”

The rebranded trusts have been issued new stock market tickers, as well as new website addresses. There are no changes to the investment processes or managers of the trusts.
