Named the VT Chelsea Managed Funds, the four new funds will be separated according to risk into cautious, balanced and aggressive growth strategies as well as a monthly income option.

Research director Juliet Schooling Latter, senior research analyst James Yardley and analyst Ryan Lightfoot-Brown worked alongside managing director McDermott to create the new funds.

They will launch at £1 per unit during a two-week offer period starting Monday 22 May and ending Monday 5 June.

McDermott said the team aimed to provide “something for everyone” and added: “For nearly two decades, clients have relied upon our research and fund selection expertise, but many have said they want us to do it for them.

“So we’ve created this range of managed funds, each with a different client profile and investing in different markets and assets via funds, investment trusts and ETFs, all carefully selected by our expert team.”

Chelsea added it had chosen to apply an investment management charge of 0.3% alongside other fees and charges, but said it would be returned to any clients who invested in one of the funds in its first year before 30 June 2018.

The authorised corporate director and investment manager of the VT Chelsea Manage Fund range is Valu-Trac Investment Management Ltd, while Chelsea Portfolio Management Services Ltd will act as investment adviser.
