Work on the new range, which has yet to be named, is being led by newly hired interim chief investment officer Jonathan Cunliffe, with input from the wider investment team, including head of asset management Christopher Aldous.

The funds will target non-high net-worth investors to utilise the stock selection, fixed-income and fund research capabilities from the firm’s bespoke portfolios. This will create something that can be used by financial advisers to form the core of their clients’ portfolios.

The move developed from a recent strategy review the firm carried out and is a key part of its growth plans, according to Aldous.

“The new range will mean investors can be assured their money is managed in the same way regardless of who they are or where they are in the country,” he said.

“I would not describe them as model portfolios as there is more to it. It is a methodology that has systematic flexibility. I see it as putting everybody through the same understandable, compliant investment process rather than squeezing them into a model,” he added.

The four funds will cater to four different risk appetites: low, medium low, medium high and high.

“We deliberately are not including medium as we feel it is important for an investor or adviser to make a distinction between the higher and lower ends of medium risk,” said Aldous.
