Capital Group has announced the appointment of Katharine Dryer to the newly-created role of equity lead, Europe and Asia client group.

Dryer (pictured) joined the investment manager in December according to her Linkedin page, and she has been tasked with expanding the firm’s equity distribution strategy and product development roadmap for institutional and intermediary clients across Europe and Asia.

Prior to joining Capital Group, Dryer was deputy CIO at Jupiter, a role she left in June last year to dedicate more time to her postgraduate studies at the University of Oxford. She started at Jupiter in 2013, having spent nearly nine years at Blackrock where she dealt with fixed-income, and then multi-asset strategy.

She has also worked at Morgan Stanley Investment Management, beginning her 25-year career at Deutsche Asset Management.

Dryer is based in London at Capital Group, and she reports to Alexandra Haggard, head of asset class services, Europe and Asia.

Regarding her appointment, Haggard said: “We are delighted to welcome Katharine to Capital Group. Working alongside the team, she will play a crucial role in building out and executing our equity commercialisation strategy across Europe and Asia. With her deep distribution and investment expertise, she will be pivotal in helping our clients build more resilient and diversified portfolios as we continuously expand our active equity strategies across Europe and Asia.”

Dryer added: “As one of the leading global investment managers, Capital Group is renowned for its deep research capabilities and track record of results. I look forward to working alongside the team as we singularly focus on bringing our clients the best global investment opportunities through long-term active management.”
