Claire Bennison, regional director of BMAM’s Manchester office, will also have responsibility for the York office and will continue to manage clients’ investment portfolios.
The firm said it had taken the decision to open an office there because its existing Manchester office was acquiring significant numbers of new clients and supporting introducers (IFAs) in Yorkshire and the North East.
Other members of the initial team include Ian Wolfenden, who is the new business development manager supporting IFAs, and Andrew Wilson who will be the investment management director in York.
Another investment management director and a trainee investment manager will be working alongside Wilson, and their appointments will be announced in due course.
Nick Holmes, joint managing director of BMAM, said: "We are delighted to have opened in York. It is a strategic centre for us and bridges a gap that existed in our Regional office network. We have many clients and professional introducers in the region and we are now able to provide an even better, localised service to them."
