BNY Mellon is in the early stages of developing a 'best of breed' suite of multi-asset products, informed by its suite of boutique asset managers.

The group said it was sensible to draw on the expertise of each of its affiliates, and while no firm plans are in place, it would likely use a risk-rated model to target advisers in the restricted space. 

The asset management giant said no date was scheduled for the launch of any vehicles, but it was a firm idea having drawn on the feedback from advisers.

While there are 15 specialist boutiques under the BNY Mellon Global Asset Management umbrella, Newton, Insight, Standish and The Boston Company Asset Management are the more prominent brands.

Each boutique will bring a particular specialism in terms of asset class and degree of research, the group said.
