Stride, age 62, has managed the Axa’s Distribution range since 1984.

Stride said: “This tried and tested strategy is very well suited for cautious investors looking to invest for the long-term, especially in volatile markets.

“This has been demonstrated through the 1987 crash, the 2001 attack on the World Trade Centre, post Lehman‘s collapse and the through the global financial crisis, where the AXA Distribution funds have performed solidly for clients.”

He added he was confident in his successors, Jamie Forbes-Wilson and Matthew Huddart who will take on co-managing the entire Axa Distribution fund range on Stride’s retirement.

The pair have co-managed the fund alongside Stride since February 2016 and will continue to be a part of Axa’s equities desk led by George Luckraft.
