Senior investment manager Sweeney will take charge of the six-strong Architas Multi-Asset Active range, effective 13 May, co-managing the funds with CIO Caspar Rock.

The change follows Carbonneil accepting a role with Schroders intermediary businesses development team, due to start “later this year”.

While Sweeney will initially retain his current duties running Architas’ multi-manager, UK equity, strategic bond and monthly high income vehicles, the firm said that management of the funds will be reallocated within the company “in due course”.

Rock confirmed that the Multi-Asset Active funds will maintain their existing risk profiles, targeting investments across the geographical and asset spectrums.

“We will continue to pursue three levels of diversification, across asset classes, within asset classes, such as by geographic region, and across investment managers,” he said.

“As well as equities, bonds and property, we also have a significant weighting to alternative assets in our Active range, such as specialist property and infrastructure, which can potentially provide additional diversification benefits as well as income opportunities. This exposure to alternatives will continue within our funds.”

Sweeney’s appointment comes two months after Architas bolstered its multi-asset offering with the launch of the Diversified Global Income Fund.
