Andrew Vaughan is stepping down as manager of the Sanford Deland (SDL) Free Spirit fund less than two years after becoming its lead manager.
Vaughan (pictured), who took over management of the fund from Rosemary Banyard in December 2019, will relinquish his duties and leave SDL later in the year to pursue other interests.
Vaughan has been with SDL since 2017 when he joined as an investment research analyst on the firm’s Buffettology and Free Spirit funds.
SDL founder and chief investment officer Keith Ashworth-Lord will become lead manager on Free Spirit, in addition to his role as lead manager on Buffettology. Ashworth-Lord has been deputy manager of Free Spirit since July 2019.
He will continue to work closely with Free Spirit chief analyst and portfolio manager Eric Burns and Buffettology analyst and portfolio manager David Beggs.
SDL said it is on an active recruitment drive to increase the number of portfolio managers and analysts supporting Ashworth-Lord and the funds.
The firm thanked Vaughan for his contribution and wished him well in his future endeavours.
