Amundi has nabbed Ashley Fagan to become its head of ETF, indexing and smart beta development for the UK and Ireland.

Fagan (pictured) joins the newly-created role from Blackrock, where she had worked for 10 years, most recently as head of iShares UK and Ireland institutional. She had previously led the iShares corporate treasury segment for EMEA and insurance and pensions for the UK & Ireland.

As well as heading up the UK and Ireland business, where she is responsible for business strategy in the region, she will also become global head of ETF, indexing and smart beta strategic accounts coordination.

Before joining Blackrock in 2008, she worked in investment banking at Barclays with a focus on European collateralised debt obligations.

She graduated from the University of Waterloo with honours in economics and business. She has worked at several Canadian banks, including RBC and the Bank of Nova Scotia.

Following Fagan’s exit, Joe Parkin has taken on a broader role at Blackrock and is now head of iShares UK sales.
